As a musician, my greatest joy is to create meaningful music that has a purpose and has impact on people, and Tonality is well-known for being one of the America's leading professional choral ensembles for social impact and action. Getting the opportunity to sing with this choir was a dream come true, and I haven't looked back since!
It is proven that acts of advocacy and storytelling helps transform communities by means of destigmatization, policymaking, and civic action. Groups like Tonality use the collective power of its members to advocate and tell stories at a large scale, which catalyzes that transformative social action in our society.
A particularly memorable moment for me was singing a set of educational concerts at a high school and witnessing a queer student break down in tears during our Q&A session in response to one of the songs from our "Just Me" program on transgender rights.
