I wanted to use my privilege as a performing artist to represent underrepresented communities through music. I want to best support my community through the power of music and using our platform to shine light on issues that people of color deal with daily.
A group with the mission of social justice is important to have in the choral community because it is community oriented and strives for justice of people in our community.
I am looking forward to collaborating with my fellow colleagues to shine light on these important issues, and give voice to the composers and the community through my privilege of having a platform to do so.
