Why did you join Tonality?

I joined Tonality so that I could collaborate with like-minded musicians in the transformation of our world.

Why do you feel a group like this is important?

I feel a group like Tonality is important because there are so many ways to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion through vocal music that have yet to be fully realized. I am hopeful that Tonality’s pursuit of a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive approach to choral music might inspire others in their pursuit of a more inclusive musical world.

What is a particular moment you remember from singing in a Tonality concert?

A particular moment I remember from singing with Tonality was when we performed Reena Esmail’s “Take What You Need” at our “Stories of Home” concert. It was incredibly moving to hear people share their personal stories around mental health and homelessness in the setting of a live choral concert.
